from a gambler because he Sunday, July 18 It's been a long time in the works, but I finally got the Web site up and running. I'm a bit of a perfectionist. Actually, let me perfect that - I am an incurable perfectionist. Everything had to be just right. Of course, feedback and constructive criticism are helpful, so I want to thank Peter V. for the idea of making this a blog site. If this is your first time here, you are in a for a real treat. I love close-up magic, and lately, I haven't been able to get enough. Of all the areas of close-up, my favorite has to be card magic. It packs small and plays big. As Viennese card conjurer J.N. Hofzinser called it, card magic is the "Poetry of Magic". This site does not expose copyrighted or other magician's secrets. The banners you see on this page for that kind of exposure are placed there by Tripod from paying advertisers. It is how I keep this site free, so, magicians, no hate mail please. In the Library, you will find a wide selection of books to choose from if you want to learn some close-up or card magic. I will also be posting articles on magicians you have never heard of, and some of the unforgettable magic they created. The Study is my place to think about and practice magic. Tricks I like and dislike, and why; performance tips, ideas, musings, and the like. If you like magic as much as I do, I trust you will find this section very informative. The Parlour is where the secret stuff is. No, you're not going to learn how Copperfield made the Statue of Liberty disappear, or how David Blaine levitates, but I promise the serious student a few choice items to whet the palate.
